How We Help

Antonine is a community based organisation that provided day opportunities for people with a disability living in the West of Glasgow, east and west Dunbartonshire and any other adjacent local authority. The organisation provides an innovative programme of support based on the individual needs of service users. Through this programme of activity, the organisation seeks to promote independence, increase citizenship, empowering and challenging prejudice, and increase life skills through the provision of meaningful daytime pursuits and educational opportunities.

Antonine operates a day service within a custom built facility at Antonine centre in Drumchapel. The day service offers a range of activities, support and rehabilitation for adults with physical disabilities and/or complex needs based upon the individuals needs of service user (person centred approach). A care plan tailored to meet your needs and personal care requirements are met by highly trained staff providing up to 25 places per day (currently Monday to Friday).

Whilst attending Antonine, the service users receive group activities or 1-1 time with staff focussing on improving lifestyle, diet, ability and help to relieve stress and anxiety from the continual stress of living with a disability through classes to improve education or relaxation/therapy.

A timetable of activities is in place, with activities starting from 10.30am daily consisting of exercise, both group and 1-1. Health and wellbeing groups focussing on cookery, diet and exercise discussions, arts and crafts, reading groups and discussion groups.

We also offer personal care, both for toileting and bathing routines as well as assisted eating. Lunch is also provided as part of the service.

Antonine offers a transport provision to and from the centre if required and regularly arranges shopping trips as part of the programme and educational trips to facilities.

Staff work based on the individual care plans of the service users and the service is based around the support they require whilst here.
